This is a photography selfie point developed by the authorities. It has a breath taking view, like one can see at every corner of whole Kinner mountain range.
As per local guy and our driver, no suicide attempt is seen or heard in years. If someone has to jump, can do so from everywhere, why should he/she come to this perticular point?
why the name suicide point when there are no attempts??? Just joking.
As said earlier, this is just another point to promote tourism, location, and perhaps, to encourage someone hurt !!!

The place is perched on the side of the highway and the authorities have made a platform with 5 feet high railing and "I love Kinnaur" board which makes it a good selfie point. The view is good but well the entire Kinnaur is full of such views. Nothing special about this place when the entire region is special. But with efforts of the authorities the selfie point is worth a visit for the vloggers, insta reelers and selfie junkies.

It's before roghi Village. The drive to the suicide point is scary. It's a narrow path with a mountain on one side and valley on the other. The administration has put a grill fence to safeguard tourists. Apparently, the number of suicides had increased and hence the grilled fence.

From Rakchcham River View Cottages we started our onward journey to Kalpa. We passed through Batseri Village and then halted at Sangla for some moments. At Karcham,we took a right turn through the Baspa Hydroelectric Power Plant upwards to Reckong Peo to Suicide point at Kalpa before checking into our hotel White Nest Kalpa.
The Suicide Point is located around 3 kms away from Kalpa village and the journey to this point takes place through beautiful apple gardens. This place is so lovely that tourists even forget the dangerous trench and vertical slope they pass through on their way to suicide point. This place is famous for its thrilling trench and enchanting atmosphere that gives a wonderful experience to the visitors.
The Suicide Point is located on the road connecting Kalpa with Roghi. The surroundings of this point are so amazing that people are forced to call it as the Suicide Point. The dangerous trench and vertical slopes are the highlights of this place. Also, the breathtaking mountain scenery gives tourists a taste of height and turns their experience into something more interesting. We reached this point in our Tempo Traveller and enjoyed the stunning landscape.

I would advice to walk till here from kalpa, as distance is less n views are epic. Here lies a deep cliff which goes all the way down till sutlej at the base of hill, sit here along the road n ponder upon life :) once in a lifetime experience.

Probably the most popular place in Kalpa. The views are breathtaking and the suicide point is great for pictures. But the place is narrow and it is advisable to be careful here.

The fact that this is the most photographed location in Himachal Pradesh says a lot. It is truly beautiful. However, one word of caution. If you thought the drive from Reckong Peo to Kalpa was scary, the drive from Kalpa to Suicide Point, on the road to Roghi village, will blow the living daylights out of you. So if you are visiting the place, in a car, take an experienced driver, else walk down to the place. While it's known as the Suicide Point, it is also an echo point. When you are there try it. A place to be visited when you are in Kalpa.

This point is about 3 to 4 Kms from HPTDC Hotel Kalpa and we went there in the afternoon of 17th September 2019. The point has an excellent panoramic views of the surrounding Hills and Valley. There is a sheer drop of about 1000 feet from the point in to the valley and we parked the Car at the point and walked about 200 meters on the curved road and the site is breathtaking. Those who see the photo without the approaching road will definitely be stunned not knowing how the car came up to there. I don't who coined the Suicide Point for this but definitely it's not that and I did not here any suicides happening there. Locally it is called Roghi Point as its on the road to Roghi, a heritage( ?) Village. The road to this point is very narrow and need cautious driving, but the surface is excellent. The visit to this Point is worth the trouble of tough drive and a must. When we were there Riders on bikes from Delhi also came and took pictures by placing the bike at the Point.

The road to Sangla, or Kalpa, or Rakcham provides innumerable examples of adrenaline pumping twists and turns. This particular point is no exception. By the time one reaches this point, he might have crossed several such blind curves and plunges en route.
The word of caution is that, please do not get over excited while taking pictures. It's better to cross the point and click from the othe side of the bend to capture the sheer vertical fall of 2000 ft.

The drive itself to the so called suicide point can increase heart rates to max capacity. The extremely narrow roads with shale mountains on one side threatening to engulf the road, and a steep precipice on the other, will definitely bring in a fear quotient in each and every visitor. The spot itself has a sheer drop off for what seems like miles. While I watched some enthusiasts who overcame their fear, posing at the very edge, I remembered reasons why India has the highest selfie deaths in the world. On the road from Kalpa to Roghi, this spot has been aptly named for reasons mentioned above.
