went there because they are a place without mistreated elephants. the food was reasonable but not worth the trip. the guided tour lasted only 10 minutes and the guide was only interested in a sponsor for a trip to europe. don't know if other places are any better but the savoi plantation is not worth the trip.

Do not go ever ever ever! I really mean it. The plantation package fee was 700 bucks which included 10 min tour and the food. Here how it all started. When we reached, it looked like that it would be a decent place. We were offered welcome drink and some snacks. After that, they told us that our tour will... More

This place started out to be so promising. I mean, a spice plantation trip in Goa. What a great idea. What a good way to learn something new other than party in a beautiful place. Sadly, ideas need to be executed well and this was horrendously executed. The food there was good but it's starts and ends there. One of... More

Though the drive from Candolium beach in North Goa to this plantation was Very Scenic ( we drove on our own ) the plantation itself was a bit of a disappointment as the guide was terrible ( and high on the local brew ) - he seemed more interested in the tip which he started demanding at the onset rather... When me and my boyfriend arrived, we were the only ones there. At first we felt lucky to get away from the crowd. And Rough Guide described the spice plantation as hidden gem. We agreed on a price - which was 100 rps more than in our guide book. Then we had a tour with a guide for about an... More

This was part of a tour organised by Thomas cook. It was done as part of an all day excursion with our own guide and transport visiting the churches temple and seeing old Goa as well as the capital. We found it very normative but we were on one to be with our guide. The local food given to you... More

Sadly ours was not a good experience to the plantation either! Apparently the regular guide was away and we were left with a knife wielding lunatic who couldn't communicate with the group. He seemed extremely proud of three crocodiles in the smallest, UNGUARDED, dirty stagnant pit - totally bewildered by the place. It's very dirty, not the expected dust and... More

I booked to go to the savoi plantation even though it was double the price of the other plantations based on the fact they do not have elephants there being mistreated. The plantation is stunning and what I learned about the spices was incredible. The food was fabulous. BUT they have 3 crocodiles in a tiny pit. WHY anyone would... More

I was initially searching for Herbarium "Abyss" Plantation, which is a medicinal farm and is ran by an Aryuvedic Doctor & our driver had no luck finding it. The next corner we turned ended up being at Savoi Plantation. We decided to see it since we were already there...BIG MISTAKE! A man came to our car guiding us inside...the place... More

We decided to visit that plantation on account of the Lonely Planet's review. Our taxi driver was very reluctant to take us there and we had to insist. He did not know the directions and it took some asking around to finally reach the place. But once there, we were extremely happy and touched by the place. The buffet was... More
