This is a must see if you are in the area, absolutely beautiful, plenty to see and lovely places to eat just down the street. Not really a place for kids unless you have older kids into history but well worth the trip.
This privately-owned château is filled with eight centuries of history and fantastic period furniture. We particularly enjoyed the kitchens filled with beautiful copper and brass pieces. Great example of a medieval castle turned into a renaissance chateau. Still in private hands so only a portion of the interior can be visited and only as part of a guided tour, but what there is is magnificent. Well worth a visit.
Sadly we had to leave before the guided tour was due to start (it's the only way you are allowed to visit I gather). But from the outside it is magnificent.
