We went there because many French people that we asked said that this castle was a must see. It is a perfect kept private owned castle where you are able to see most of the castle. This was very fun to do with the audio...More

What a bijou castle in a bijou corner of la Loire! Perched on a hill, it's a fairy tale castle made for girls! I was happy to pay the entrance fee of €14 (€1 more than at Chenonceau!) to support the upkeep and creative events...More

The visit might be worth for families with kids. I didn't enjoy the rooms and found this visit disappointing.

We visited this castle and another (Langlais) on the same day. Morning visit here was good fun: the origins as a fort can be seen, as well as the conversion to a castle. Top floor of the castle is dedicated to telling Sleeping Beauty's tale...More

This is one of the best Chateaus in the Loire Valley by far. The huge towers and the main building are magnificent. The caves and the sleeping beauty story that is told within the castle is a very nice bonus.

My child was fascinated, an interestingly presented all of the scenes of the fairy tale. There are many steps and the rooms were enhanced by the dressed dolls. The gardens are charming too.

I think you will find that both the chateau, gardens and the chapel will be closed tightly over the holiday period. However, all is not lost. The chateau itself is situated on a bluff facing across the surrounding lands... More

We also rented a car and we had a GPS which we found quite helpful ! Beside the châteaux close to Rigny-Usse we also visited 2 of the most beautiful villages of France : Candes Saint-Martin and Monsoreau .
