What an excellent experience! I went to the Chateau de Camarsac and did a self-guided tour with tasting afterward. I was kindly greeted by Gwen who gave me a map of the property and explained how the tour worked. Just when I thought I would be alone for the tour, I was greeted by three beautiful Border Collies, one of which accompanied me for the entire tour. The property is beautiful, tranquil, very picturesque. The markers give a detailed description of the winemaking process and of the castle and its history. The fact that it was self-guided allowed me to go at my own pace and take pictures along the way. After I completed the tour, Kunal and Gwen joined me in the tasting room. Both of them were so warm and welcoming, very knowledgable and personable, but not pretentious. I tasted a rosé, two whites, and three reds, all of which were delicious. I've already made plans to go back again before I leave the region! Definitely recommend!

We turned up without a booking and was met by one of the directors. For a modest 12,00€ we had a 2 hour tour of the chateau cellars, the chateau and the pressing area as well as a wine tasting of the 6 wines they produce. Our guide was most knowledgeable both having a degree in wine making and having worked through all the processes involved from the vineyards up to managment and marketing. In our tour we met the owner and was shown the building work being done to the chateau to bring it into the 21st century and the plans for future weddings and events. Fantastic visit and we will all be happy to revisit after the planned works are completed.

We were on a Oceania ship tour that drove around Bordeaux before coming to this vineyard. The chateau on the grounds was most impressive. The fellow from the vineyard did a nice job of explaining the operation of the vineyard, but since we didn't have much time on the tour, it had to be cut short. When it was time for tasting, we sat around the outside of the wine room while he told us about the white wine we were going to try. They poured it into glasses and passed it around. There wasn’t any cheese or crackers to nibble on, like most wine tastings I have been on. Then he told us about the second wine, a red one. I think that everyone was surprised when he just went around and poured the red into the same glass that had the remnants of the white. They normally use different glasses. It really didn’t matter to me, since I’m not a picky wine drinker. What was concerning was that we only had the two wines to sample. For a rather expensive ship tour, there should have been more wine tasting.
I do think it would have been a better experience had we not been on a ship tour, since everything had to be rushed.

Hello !
Thank you for your review, it is always nice to hear from our visitors.
As you explained you visited us with a ship tour, and we have to do the visit how they ask us to do so.
We appologize for the rush during the tour and the tasting.
With the tour agencies we have to respect a tight timing. Usually the visit and the tasting last 1h30 and you taste all of our wines.
Hope you still keep a good memory of the vineyard,
Sincerly,
Oenotourism team.
