It’s considered as “the first pass of China”, and it consist in a beautiful gate surrounded by the Great Wall and a temple in the mountains. It is very quiet and easy to walk in some parts. It has some shops as well and even a traditional performance for free! Totally worth visit in the way from Taiyuan to Datong.

Yanmen pass is part of early stage of great wall. A pass to Mongolian. It is a famous pass since thousand years ago since Han dynasty. Tour guide Bruce Zhang explains site history well in detail which made our trip lot more interesting.
