This place is around 1.5 hrs away from Guadalajara. It is a very small lake and can be covered in 2hrs. It is not very good place to visit if you are having many expectations :)

This is a huge lake with a quiet little town at the lakes edge, the lake is large and you can rent boat tours to spend the day.

It is a pleasant place to be for a day if you are just visiting the lake and its near by attractions, the boat ride to scorpion island and back is cool too.

Nothing compares to Lake Chapala for natural beauty & variety. Each of the Lakeside towns are quite unique, and should be explored over a period of days.

I was refreshingly surprised by the beauty care and decoration of the malecon, all people go here on sundays and have their lunch and spend the day. There are plenty of street shops called tianguis, also typical drinks from here jarritos and delicious ice creams....More

If you are in Guadalajara, México you must visit El Lago de Chapala , the Lake view and the relaxing of the area is a plus. You can sit and relax drinking Mexican beer and some "charalitos" fish.
