I’ve visited this cave a couple of times while holidaying in Puglia. I think it’s a wonderful place and well worth seeing if you’re interested in geology, architecture and wildlife. You enter along a walkway by the beautiful blue water and once inside, the cathedral-like shapes of the stalactites and stalagmites are like being on another planet. I found it all pretty exciting and so did my kids. It’s fascinating to hear about the bat history and the shrimps that live in the pool there without eyes. I’m not sure where the people who have dismissed the cave as nothing special are comparing it with, but I would highly recommend!

Very cool grotto! You purchase tickets at the office in the parking lot and then a guide will walk you down into the cave. The walk down along the water is beautiful. Cave is pretty cool and guide gives you information as you go.

Nice caves with entrance from a pathway from above to the watersedge. The caves are nice but not that spectacular. Second section was closed but voor 6 euros still ok

As I read the posts about this famous sightseeing place to visit, I was kind of discouraged to go. It was one single raining day so we took our chance and must say I am glad we did!!!! The cave is mandatorily guided and the guide speaks Italian and English fluently. The queue was organized and relatively quick. The cave is indeed big and has lots of story and formations to be seen. Definitely worth a visit and its fame.

We parked here on a REALLY hot day, and paid our 6 euros each to walk in to the cave (about a 30 minute round trip). We didn't join the tour group, so probably missed out on interesting information - but it was a good way to kill half an hour and the entrance to the cave / colour of the water was gorgeous. The cave is fine (I am not a big fan of caves as it turns out!) - but would only do it if you have time to spare. Easily accessible which is a plus, and you dont need to go on a boat to get to it.

Some reviews are seriously rubbish. Do not think you can swim into it. If you want to see inside, you HAVE TO BUY A 5€ ticket and wait for the OBLIGATORY guide which leads her group inside every 15mins. I hate guides, the rambling on and on, when really you can see the entire cave in 5mins. We had an italian guide who was too slow .... kept insisting we all gather around before her speech. Drove me insane. Then we had people insisting on english being spoken which delayed things further. The final stop is the biggest part of the cave but sadly with awful grafitti. My son and I left the group at this point and went out ourselves. You can swim FREE in the sea near to the caves, but forget getting close. The swimming pool costs about 7euros a person and is sea water , and clean. Pretty views. There is a restaurant and a few kiosks. You have to pay for parking, cash or card.

I was so hoping to see inside the cave itself but due to the weather (in January), the sea was too rough and the cave itself was closed to access. Shame because I had heard such good things about it. Even so, the views around the bay were really lovely. I must try and come again in the summer.
