This is a true State Museum which contains a permanent collection of diverse and unique exhibits. You should undoubtedly view canvases from XVII-XX centuries. I would especially recommend seeking for my favorite paintings: “Grandpa Save me” by Paul Venig, “A Dangerous Lesson” by Henryk Siemiradzki and “Fulvia With the Head of Cicero” by Pavel Svedomsky. We headed out of Moscow for a day-trip to Pereslavyl-Zalessky and it was a really pleasant outing. Whilst the Monastery and the surrounding buildings are quite imposing, you can't escape the fact that it feels rather "rustic" in appearance, and in need of some TLC.
