About
This 200-acre open-air complex boasts over 100 replicas of the country's most iconic sites from over 4,000 years of history. You can admire the intricate details of these expertly crafted replicas from the viewpoints around the ponds. You can rent a golf car or bike to cover the vast grounds, which are typically included in tours of the Ancient City.
The sun in Thailand can be scorching, so wear plenty of sunscreen. Visit in the early morning or late afternoon to beat the heat and for fewer crowds. Some of the sites are actual temples, so remember to dress appropriately. – Tripadvisor

- Jay EWashington DC, District of Columbia32 contributionsBest tourist attraction in BangkokHave made two separate trips to Bangkok this year, about two total months. I’ve seen most of the tourist sites, and in my opinion, this is the best tourist attraction in Bangkok. The park is massive and the quality of the exhibits is top notch and they are quite beautiful. I strongly recommend getting a golf cart to get around the park. We got there a little after opening and spent six hours going through the park, and we only did “drive bys” past most of the exhibits. The ones we walked through were accurate recreations of those we had seen before (in Bangkok and Ayutthaya). The park was not crowded and we had most of the exhibits to ourselves. There are recreations of Thai villages as well and the food is reasonably priced, about the same price as you would pay from a street food vendor in Bangkok. Getting to the park is pretty easy. We took the BTS to Kheha station and the number 36 songtheaw (10 TB) to the park entrance. Crossing over a pedestrian bridge (to the right of the park exit) gets you to the number 36 to get back to the BTS. We bought our tickets using Klook for half (350TB) the normal admission price (700TB), which mostly covered the cost of the golf cart rental (350 TB first hour, 100 TB each additional hour - at least through end of December 2022). Note that I have had problems buying items with Klook in the past, but I used Apple Pay this time and had no problems. If you really want to get an overview of the depth and breadth of the historic sites in Thailand, I can’t recommend this place strongly enough. One of the more interesting aspects is some of the Khmer type architecture in the Northern Thalland section. Plan on spending most of the day to really see it.Visited December 2022Written 29 December 2022
- Kim JTjaereborg, Denmark198 contributionsHidden gemThis huge park in the outside of Bangkok is a hidden gem. It is a kind of fullscale replica of ancient buildings in Thailand Very well made, however not all conpletely finish. So huge area i recommend either the tram or as we did the golfbuggy. I think very few people here at high season. Why not 5 stars? It is a bit expensive and a lot of things not completely done. Also a little diffucult to find the best route to see everythingVisited January 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 20 January 2023
- gregsf11San Francisco, California816 contributionsDo you really need to see Thailand after this?Definitely go. Definitely get the golf cart -having that shade and a place to put down backpacks, etc., beats riding around in a bike any day. It's 10 km end to end, and you wind up logging in many more Km after all is said and done. Don't think you're safe from bugs because you're in an urban area. Mosquitos are definitely around -plenty of stagnant water for them to breed, and I got bitten by the most vicious horsefly ever, like blood trickling down my leg. But still an amazing place. The detail is unbelievable. You start to wonder if the rest of Thailand will now be anticlimactic because you've seen so many of its iconic architecture here already. Oh, and get the combo ticket with the Erawan Museum. That place is a wonder in and of itself, and pairs well with Ancient City for a same day visit.Visited November 2022Written 22 January 2023
- Rbailey1989West Sussex, United Kingdom46 contributionsAesthetically pleasing to the eye and an escape for the soulHuge!! Open air museum with the most beautiful architecture from Thai and Chinese culture. Such as: temples, pagodas, water features and lived in Thai village as well as other things that I don’t know the name of. From all of the temples that you can go to in bangkok, I would easily put this amongst the top 3 alongside Wat pho and grand palace. A must see but don’t just take my word for it, go here and you won’t be disappointed. Get around the park: 1. Golf cart- For rent 350 baht and 100 baht additional hour. 2.Bike- inclusive of ticket 3. Tram/shuttle bus-inclusive I personally suggest the golf cart as it’s fun and can stop anytime, anywhere. The Erawan is often inclusive of the ticket as it’s part of the ancient city group when buying online but I personally don’t think that’s it’s worth it and could easily have been included within the grounds of ancient city but that’s your choice to visit or notVisited February 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 2 February 2023
- BigSpoEdinburgh, United Kingdom301 contributionsExcellent day outI can’t understand why this place is so quiet. A comfortable ride out of central Bangkok on the BTS followed by a 10 minute ride on a local bus and you’re there. A completely relaxing day in pleasant surroundings. We hired a golf cart for five hours and visited pretty much all of the park. In total, including the BTS I think our day was leas than 1500 TB. Most definitely worth the effort to get there.Visited February 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 February 2023
- peterlondon91London, United Kingdom363 contributionsMuch more interesting than we expectedLarge theme park with copies of buildings from different area of Thailand and different time periods. Some copies are full size but others are half size. It includes some building designed to show what some ancient building, which are now lost, may have looked like, such as the Royal building at Ayutthaya which were destroyed when Thailand was invaded. We used a rented golf cart to drive around and still spent 2-3 hours in the park. There are places to buy drinks and food and souvenirs. We travelled to the park by taking the BTS to Kheha, which is the last stop on the Sukhumvit line and then taking one of the many taxis which are lined up there waiting for fares. We got back to central BKK the same way and it was very simple.Visited February 2023Written 11 February 2023
- Michelle T2 contributionsINTERESTING TO SEE ❤️At our time February 2023 too many attractions (buildings) were under construction 🚧 way too many to pay the full price. We rented golf 🚙 cart and saw it all in just one hour. It was still fun and beautiful and we enjoyed it anyway.Visited February 2023Travelled with familyWritten 12 February 2023
- DhruvkhatauMumbai, India28 contributionsA Must To See..It's an amazing place to visit. So serene, full of greenery and all the replicas of ancient structures. You can either cycle around for free, or, take a cart for a small charge. I don't know why this place is not advertised much. But, I would highly recommend to visit this place. Have nice restaurants too. Spend atleast half a day to explore this wonderful place.Visited December 2022Travelled as a coupleWritten 8 April 2023
- wanderingdxMetro Manila, Philippines65 contributionsPlenty of areas to take a selfieThis place is huge. The architecture is beautiful. It is recommended to rent a golf cart because you can’t visit the whole place on foot. However, I think the golf cart rental is too expensive. During our visit some of the monuments were under construction/renovation. Note: For international travellers, they require passport and driver’s license to be able to rent a golf cart.Visited April 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 9 May 2023

A must see!! this phrase says it all. Its so worth coming here. Its a huuuugggeeee place for you to explore and enjoy every sight. Me and my friends took hours touring the place and took millions of photos of this amazing place. We took the golf cart to maximize our time and so as not to be too tired walking under the scorching heat of the sun. We all bought the package from klook (which is the entrance + buffet lunch). It was all worth it. Highly recommended.

Absolutely horrified to have seen, half way through my tour, that this place offers elephant rides. There are 7 elephants (including a baby) chained up and abused by the staff members, purely for tourist entertainment. I’m upset to have put money into this attraction now knowing they do these horrible things. If i knew this information before i would have not come!
There are other animals here including birds and cattle and many more. Who knows what they do to them.
Please DO NOT come here.

I used the tram option and instead of a rotational tram going to designated stops at timed intervals, it became somewhat of a timed tour where we only had 20 - 30 minutes to explore those areas. That's not enough time at all to see much let alone relax and take in the beauty of the area. Plus the tram doesn't even stop at all the areas and if you want to see something the tram doesn't stop at, you will have to walk and somehow make it back to the tram in 20 minutes. I was disappointed because I paid for an entry ticket and felt restricted on what I could see. If that's the case than the tram ticket should of been cheaper.

This was an interesting experience. We had one last day to spend in Thailand before flying home early the next morning, so we decided to visit this place we had seen so many photos of on instagram. First of all, I hopped on TripAdvisor and saw that I could purchase tickets there, so I did that before we caught our ride. But when we arrived, we were informed that the tickets were for the following day and were non-transferrable and nonrefundable. So, we ended up paying twice, which was really frustrating. I won't use TripAdvisor for tickets again.
We rented e-bikes, and that was very fun. We hadn't ridden e-bikes before and there was a little bit of a learning curve, but soon we were zipping around the park. Initially, we just rode around getting our bearings, checking things out. Right away, we were struck by how much smaller and dilapidated many of the buildings are in reality. Paint is peeling and roof tiles are falling off in many places. But they still make great photo ops. It was refreshing to ride around in a quiet setting with no traffic after a long, hectic trip through Nepal and northern Thailand, and despite there being some run-down structures, there are still some absolutely stunning temples and statues on the grounds, and it was far less crowded than most of the others we visited on our trip/s. It was definitely worth the trip, though I would have much preferred not to have paid nearly double. I have since uninstalled the TripAdvisor app because I don't want to make that mistake again.

I planned to visit this tourist attraction. But, I found out they have elephants chained up to give humans rides. This is disgusting!!! I will tell all my friends NOT to visit this place. I teach tourism in the U.S. and will spread the word that this place abuses elephants.

There has many photogenic spots (IG spots) that I love it the most. Entrance and rental fee are fair. I hired the e-bike that can go around everywhere in this field quickly. I recommend morning and evening because noon may be very hot.

We had a good afternoon getting around in a golf buggy looking at the temples, seeing the exhibits. Some were in good condition but others had closed off sections and looked unmaintained. We stopped at a cafe inside for cold drinks and had a good lunch at a restaurant next to the carpark.
BUT the major disappointment was that at the end of our time at the museum we came across a few elephants being used to give rides!! Really! Isn't Thailand better than this?? There's so many elephant rescue charities but still this major attraction in the country has elephant rides for tourists ( mainly Indian tourists by the look of it). The rest of the world has moved on from the cruel exploitation of animals for tourists entertainment and the only people doing rides are those that have no idea of what happens to these elephant to break them in for riding. Those not being ridden stood chained up and swaying obviously distressed.
We will not recommend an otherwise interesting attraction to friends and family or TripAdvisor subscribers until the elephant rides are stopped.

Amazing place for people understand Thailand within a day. People can ride motorcycle, golf car or bicycle to travel around. Besides, you can understand more Thailand by rending the travel kit with translation function.

It’s a golf cart lol no licence needed. Do you use a license to drive one in the U.K.? Lol. Only vehicles that go over 30mph needs a driving licence in the U.K. by law. You’d be lucky if you got 10mph from this.

Hello there. My family and I are planning to see the Ancient City. The thing is we are still checking or trying to find out whether we can go inside the Ancient City with a rented van rather than using/renting a golf car. Does anyone know if it's possible or do they have a fee for this besides the admission fee?

Yes you can. I came in with our own car and driver in there. I don’t remember exactly if they charge for the car or not but the driver is free of charge.

And also is there a strict dress code for ladies?

For renting anything they ask to keep your ID. You need to judge if that is ok. If you have a National ID card and also a passport, use your National ID.
Temples and palaces have a dresscode. I have seen access denied for that reason.
