About
Located in the Jerusalem mountains, overlooking the primordial landscape of Israel. It all began in a 2,500 year old cave, where a message from the past was revealed to us in the form of an ancient coin where history and legacy come together.

Nama our wine ambassador graciously extended us a tour of the winery in between a Bar Mitzvah & a wedding, seemingly when they would be cleaning/prepping. We had so much fun learning with Nama about Psagot's history & seeing the behind the scenes operation. We were fortunate to also meet one of the owner's, also named Nama who was welcoming & generous with her time with us. We sampled many delicious wines, favorites to note: Merlot, Rose PR & Sauvignon Blanc. We had such a special day & would highly recommend this winery tour & tasting! Thank you to Nama & Nama for making this a truly unforgettable afternoon!

Beautiful setting for the renovated tasting room overlooking the surrounding hills of Judea. Wines are excellent: a solid Cabernet Sauvignon, an outstanding Cab Franc, and a surprising and very impressive blend of C.S., P.V and C.F. Also tasted some semi-sweet and dessert wines. Highly recommended

PROS
• Very very nice event hall- open, spacious, great heavy wooden oak design
* Wines reported as good quality, but I never touch it
• Nice modern rustic facility
• Outstanding and wonderfully designed demonstration of local ancient Biblical and Talmudic artifacts and housewares and wine implements and carafes and other utensils - as old as almost 4000 years (see my "helpful" photos)
* See the barrels of wine and take a tour of their wine making process with tastings too
* Epic view over the Jordan Valley, especially at sunset (no "helpful" photos)
• Efficient staff that are friendly attentive and helpful
* The food at the event was very very incredibly good
CONS
• Location remains a minus- it's difficult to get there and one has to be very alert and watch the area
"I VISITED THIS PLACE"...
... recently for a second time- I was invited to participate in a family event again (everyone liked the place the first time- see my first "helpful" review).
I again enjoyed it very much, especially the panoramic breath taking scenic view out to the Jordan Valley and beyond (no photos this time again).
The food was simply outstanding fabulous and fantastic and I ate more to excess than I can ever remember. I felt so bloated afterwards that I needed to walk around the grounds for at least 40 minutes until I felt better.
I spent some of that time admiring the fantastic incredible and amazingly pleasantly aesthetically displayed ancient Israelite artifacts found on the site of the winery- from 2000 to 4000 years old!!
Again, I enjoyed the travel journey to get there much less than even my first visit.
WOULD I VISIT AGAIN?
Sure, but I wouldn't enjoy getting there
WAS IT WORTH THE COST?
I was invited to a family event, so no cost
ADVICES
* Enjoy the wonderful pleasant and pleasing design of the place
* Enjoy the amazing panoramic view of the Jordan Valley from the patio
* Enjoy the amazing historical archaeological artifacts
* Enjoy the incredible food
* Take a wine making, storing and tasting tour
* Know exactly where you are going and how to get there. Be careful with Waze, which might send you into areas and neighborhoods that you otherwise would not want to visit- the classic direction is through Pisgat Zeev neighborhood to the Hizma passage.

Psagot winery has a beautiful on line brochure detailing their events etc etc. They open at 9 am. Wrong. They do not. We were there. The place was getting vacuumed. A girl on the site looked confused. We hung around outside. Finally the girl said she would show us the winery. But that they do not open till 10 am. That visits were by appointment and generally group tours.
Ah well. Love their wine was planning to buy but left very very disappointed. Will I recommend a visit no way.

I had heard good things about this winery (and love their wines), but was very disappointed. We saw the barrels and tanks through the glass from a room where we viewed a short movie and a lovely woman explained the wine-making process. We then went to another room and watched a movie about the history of the area. No tour of the surrounding area or vineyards was offered (not even sure where they are located actually) and, most surprising of all, was that they didn't offer any tastings! We paid and left. They didn't even show us what they make there! It was the oddest thing.

A must!! Many varietals and exceptional wine. The fact that it is kosher is a bonus!!
The Voignier is light, fruity and exceptional! The award winning Merlot is very drinkable. The 70 is only available in Israel and is amazing. I highly recommend the wine and the Psagot experience!

The tour is very unique in that in focuses not only one the wine production but also on the Biblical history of the area. There is also about a 30 minute movie in either English or Hebrew. as well as the traditional wine tasting. We sampled about 6 wines and purchased several for some excellent prices. The only drawback is that if you drive there, you must travel (albeit briefly) through some Palestinian areas. Definitely recommend.
