Like most people, I've seen pictures and television shots that show the bridge in the foreground and the city in the background; however, I've always wanted to see it for myself. If the fog is very heavy, you won't see anything and it probably won't...More

We found this National Recreation Area more or less by coincidence when driving over the Golden Gate Bridge and stopping to take pictures right after the bridge. This is such an amazing nature drive right outside of San Francisco and gives you the best views...More

We drove the entire length of the available roadway and were impressed at every turn. Don't hesitate to drive the over the hill to the far reaches of the park the road it isn't as daring as it seems. Get out and explore a bit...More

This is a nice scenic drive. So much so that it’s been in dozens of movies like the birds, so I married an axe murderer, basic instinct, etc. definitely worth your time.

Excellent place to get the best view of Golden Gate and pacific coastline initially as well as great views back over the city , then drop down the back to the lighthouse and Rodeo Beach. Also great to be above the fog and watch it...More

No, not the shoes, the cold-war antiair missile battery! Try to schedule your visit while the rangers staff the site and you can watch the missiles come up and be "prepared" to fire. Amazing bit of our history.

If you are traveling to the Bay area, definitely take the time to cross the Golden Gate bridge, preferably on a sunny day, and take in the views from the Marin Headlands!

We drove out to the Marin Headlands on a Saturday morning when we left San Francisco and was heading to Lake Tahoe. It was around 9 AM and other than the Battery Spencer stop, there was plenty of parking. The sun was not in the...More

Fee is the toll for the Golden Gate Bridge. Awkward, they don't take $$. So you need to go online after with your plate number and pay. Also, coming from SF, once you exit the road west is the first left.
