If you’ve ever dreamt of hiking for an hour or two for solace in the tall pines of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, this is your chance. The vistas are magnificent. It doesn’t get any better than that!

We were advised by locals to take this walk above all others. It was fantastic. We drove up Blackwood Canyon Road, past the end of the bitumen. Park near the bathroom where the Pacific Crest Trail crosses the road. Plenty of space including picnic table...More

We did the Tahoe Meadows portion of this trail. It was beautiful as the Fall colors really highlighted the meadow. The trail was easy and accessible and the signage was interesting. We parked along the side of Mt. Rose Highway.

Wow, what a great hiking trail. Believe me the downhill is a little quicker than the uphill. But the path is well kept and it's beautiful. I trail was steep in spots but it's not super difficult. I would recommend this hike for anyone. Beautiful.

Did a short walk from Stagecoach Lift, to the Van Sickle Trail, down to town. A little under 5 miles and most of it is down-hill. I have done a longer 4-day walk last year. This is a wonderful trail, and I will certainly thru-hike...More

We hiked the trail from the Mt. Rose trailhead to the summit. If you get there by 9:30, you will be able to park. The first part of the trail to the waterfall is moderate hiking. Only about 5 miles round trip although the trip...More

We hiked the sixth segment of the TRT, from Big Meadow to Echo Summit. The trip was strenuous but beautiful. We are seniors, so we do not hike as fast as the "thru hikers" on the Pacific Crest Trail - but we made it from...More

We had been hiking on a couple of trails since we came back 3 weeks ago and we found each one to be different but always enjoyable. So we chose the Big Meadow trail head this time. It was a pleasant walk in the beginning...More
