Riding along a frozen riverbed on a two-person 5 dog sleigh is mighty enjoyable. Set backs? Phone froze so pictures limited. Odour of skidoo exhaust kind of dampens the concept of fresh crisp northern air. Pluses? Riding in a dog sled on a frozen river in the sunshine!!! Beautiful. And they seem to love it.

Manuela at Muktuk made all our arrangements. We "mushed" our own team of dogs, rode horses in the snow and rode snowmobiles. Each activity was fun and exciting. THe people at Muktuk are the best and they try to accommodate each persons needs for these activities. Great place to book your activities!

Dog lovers get ready for some fun! I booked the half day tour and wish I had gone for a full day. The tour company picked me up right at my hotel and a short 25 minute, guided van ride later we arrived at Muktuk. There are SO many dogs. The owners and workers are extremely animal sensitive and all... More

My friend and I did a half day tour. It was one of the best experiences, ever. You can tell that this is a dog place. Even in the building, retired dogs roam free and all are very very friendly. The team at Muktuk adventures is great. Even though we went prepared to face the cold, we were given snow... More

Our family went out for the afternoon to see what dog sledding was all about. We were not disappointed! Every single dog of the 113 dogs on site were super friendly. Our team that was out together were very entertaining to say the least. They wanted to visit us in the sled every time we stopped (I got peed on... More

Myself and a mate had 8 days living the dream with Manuela, Jeff and the hard working crew at Muktuk. I've been dog-sledding a number of times with each adventure stepping up a level in both length and difficulty. When planning our trip with Manuela she was great in assessing our skills and suggesting what we could do to maximise... More

We went on a half day dogsledding tour with Muktuk as a part of a multi-day package we booked with a tour company. The staff/guides were all very friendly and you could tell how much all of them loved the dogs. The dogs were happy and well taken care of, and their affection showed that they were raised with love.... More

My wife and I had the pleasure of being guests for a week long "Rookie Ranch" experience with Muktuk Adventures. We both were welcomed as part of the extended family at Muktuk by the owners Jeff & Manuela and the amazing hard working staff. Our accomodation was great, massive big room, most comfortable beds and plenty of room to stay... More

They'll lend you warm clothing and let you drive your own dogsled team! Not as tough as it sounds, and you're well-supervised. A singular experience. Highly recommended. Oh, and if you're looking for a great pet, they have retired dogs available for adoption.

Frank Turner and his crew offer the finest sled dog experience anywhere in Canada's north. His staff are among the most knowledgeable I have encountered and their love for the dogs shows in how they are cared for.
