Situated on the banks of the Yukon River, the Cultural Centre is a place where we celebrate the heritage and contemporary way of life of the Kwanlin Dun First Nation people. It is also a gathering place for people of all cultures.

The vision of the Cultural Centre is to revive, preserve, and demonstrate our language, practices, values and traditional way of life for the benefit of Kwanlin Dun people. We also want to share our culture with other First Nations and people from around the world.

There is stories on the walls and a few items of cultural history. An information desk yet not really sure what the centre is about. A small bit of history on the walls, photos that show people's from the area. No real information as to what the centre is used for now. Looking into two very large open rooms and... More

I lectured in one of this building's mulitpurpose rooms and spent all my breaks wandering the halls and looking at the art. I never tired of it. Some of it was hugely emotional and some simply beautiful. Really enjoyed being there, felt enriched by the experience.

Beautiful building, filled with wonderful First Nation art and artifacts. What really made the experience spectacular was our tour guides, who told their personal stories as part of the tour. Highly recommended.

Beautiful facility, with some very interesting history and artifacts. Loved the canoe in the lobby and the history of how and when it was built.

This is a really beautiful building -- seeing the architecture is worth the visit. There are some really spectacular pieces of First Nations artwork also. We watched an interesting video on building a dug-out canoe. We didn't have the opportunity to catch a guided tour -- this would have enhanced our experience and given us more information.

We went to the Cultural Centre at 6:20 and toured the museum. There were lots of neat things to see in the way of First Nation artifacts. We also went into the art shop inside the cultural centre. We got really lucky to be in Whitehorse because the Adaka Cultural Festival was taking place from July 1-7. We went to... More

This summer I had the great fortune to spend 10 awesome days in Whitehorse, the capital city of the Yukon. Arriving at the Eric Nielsen Airport already gave a taste of experiences to come. Short few minutes car ride to town sampled the things to come, log cabins, first nations art, and culture everywhere. As I was coming to the... More

This is a beautiful building, and the displays were quite interesting and informative, but our guide did not know a lot of facts. When talking about the truth and reconciliation commission she did not know there were 94 calls to action, speculating that 14 recommendations were made.
