Beautiful view and lot's to learn at Whitehorse's Fish Lader. See the salmon swimming while learning lot's about how salmon were catched in the olden days and how they are catched by First Nations. I find this place very good. So go down to Whitehorse's Fish Lader and learn something new about salmon.

The Whitehorse Fishway give those who visit a true and very interesting account of why fishways are built. The observation platforms allow visitors an excellent view of the construction of the fish ladder. Once inside the building there is a tank area where the fish can be observed, but you must be there fairly early in the morning, before the... More

we visited the fishway on September. we were there more then half an hour, and we saw only one small fish! you can read the written explanations and look at the photos, they are quite interesting, but if you come in order to see fish - don't come, at least not in September.

I teach about salmon in my home area, so this was a good destination for me. Loved seeing the huge wooden fish ladder, and the spawners, even though there were not many salmon due to the time we visited. Lots of good information in the tourist center as well as along the path to the fish ladder.

You really need to visit this place. You actually get to see real salmon go through the ladder. It is a free attraction but you can make a $3 donation. This is the longest fish ladder in world. One of Yukon Energy's key values is to ensure they operate in an environmentally-responsible manner. The fishladder and the fish hatchery are... More

Very informative about the life and migration of the salmon. Go in the morning to see the fish held overnight in the tank. Around 10:00 they start the process of weighing and measuring each fish before letting them continue their journey up the ladder.

This would be good for young and old. Tells the story of the salmon preservation. The counting process and the latter.

Again something I never knew existed. So happy to see how They built this for the salmon to get to other side of dam. We did see salmon while there they were huge. And the volunteers that are there count and measure the salmon. Nature needs all the help p it can get these days. Worth a visit if you... More

Excellent display of a very well planned fishway. The staff were all informative and the views gave a real sense of the power of the Whitehorse River. We were too early to see the chinook but there were fry and some trout to be seen. Follow the walkway down to the bridge and you can cross the river and experience... More
