I love the saskatoon berry pie, their waffles (which has it's own waffle bar of toppings), and their saskatoon berry flavoured drinks. It's a cozy little restaurant tucked away beside a beautiful view of the river.
If one wants the real spirit of Christmas, well this is definitely for you.The tour is found at Sakatoon's Forest Farm just off of Attridge Drive and is by far the best display we have ever seen. With millions of LED lights and 66 themed...More
The Forestry Farm and Zoo is a wonderful place for children and families. Well maintained, beautiful grounds, great playgrounds, the Forestry Farm has it all. At Christmas time, a beautiful light display.
This zoo is small ; but at $12.50 adult admission, a great deal. Went on a sunny morning and nice to see the animals enjoying the sun as well. Some of the area is off limits due to heavy construction , but most animals still...More
We were sure happy to see children’s push wagons for rent. this grandma and grandpa forget the stroller. It worked great for a 18 mth old and 4 year old. You have to be able to walk the distances. The animals were great to see....More
This zoo has a lot of animals to view. I arrived there around 9:30am and I was able to see most everything. The animals have lots of space, but no matter where they are within their enclosure you are still able to see them.
Many of the animal exhibits were empty. The grass eating animals did not look healthy, the plains bison had multiple open sores on its legs.
The buckeye cafe wasn't very appetizing.
The walk around for the nature was nice, but the walkways are difficult terrain...More
It was a nice warm day out, but not much wildlife to see. Not sure where the animals were? We saw the Bears and the bald eagles. You shouldn't have to pay for parking, a child buggy, and entrance into the park. That's a money...More
I would agree with 974lorin. I think the concession area is the only area with seating. There is an indoor area with Meerkats and a few other animals but I don’t think there is much in the way of seating there.

As far as I know, most animals are rescues and even though they have been rehabilitated, cannot be returned to the wild due to their dependence on us for care and feeding. This is the case for the eagles and grizzly bears ( one of which has OCD). Any offspring born at The Forestry Farm Park would have to continue living there since their parents wouldn't know how to care for them in their natural habitat. We do on occasion borrow animals for a term such as the white tigers, kangaroos and red raccoons. Recently, the peacocks have been given to another zoo because of our climate - we would have to build a separate structure for them to properly care for them during the winter (the existing structure is too old). While going through The Park, it's good to read the signs at each animal pen as explanations are usually given about that particular animal.
