The Wanuskewin Heritage Park offers many ways to learn about the local First Nation people's lives. There are displays, a video room, multiple outdoor walks with informative stops, a changing art display, and if you're lucky, a native dance demonstration. The gift shop has related items, and the restaurant has interesting local choices, including bison stew.

The staff at Wanuskewin are proud to show all customers the history of Saskatchewan and the culture of the First Nations people. Certainly a stop for any Saskatchewan resident or visitor.

This venue has changed over the last few years and the changes have been disappointing. We were on a tour - was promised a group date ensemble which ended up being one dancer who performed two dances and then had the group do a winding snake type of dance . There was no one to explain the trails - these... More

Went on a cool and misty October afternoon. A refreshing walk through the trails. Benefited from following a school group with a guide who was providing cultural context and stories. Then wandered along another path and discovered 3 white-tailed deer in close proximity to the bridge we were crossing. If you love nature and history, you'll love this place. I... More

There is a sence of tranquillity when you walk the trails, but I have never liked the admission price. I understand there are galleries as well, but I just like the trails. Sometimes there are trails closed, but they do not tell you that when you pay. That is a bit of a rip off too.

Visited on unseasonably cold evening in October adding to the bleakness of the place so probably not at its best. Most of this spacious place is taken up by a shop selling all sorts of first nation items including baby mocassins for 50 dollars and a couple of rooms of art. Not sure what they do with the rest of... More

This past summer I took a couple visitors from Germany to Wanuskewin after not visiting for years. I was totally let down and wasn't sure what I paid for. Years ago I'd gone numerous times, taking visitors from all other the world. There was a great interactive display, information and demonstrations on carbon dating finds, etc. Now there is only... Spent a few hours on the trails outside, exploring the area. Beautiful views, breathtaking scenery, and an afternoon of exercise and fresh air. I came back to the Centre to find a powwow dance demonstration in progress. The dancer was interesting, well-spoken, funny, and engaging. Overall, I'd highly recommend visiting for anyone who enjoys hiking and cultural activities.
