    It's a Castle!!
We visited this VIA Rail Station as we told it looks like a castle. We took some pictures outside but didn't go into the station. Metro Plus supermarket is a 5 minutes walk from this Rail Station.

    Lovely station
Gare du Palais looks like a chateau, but it is only a Train and Bus station. Its architecture is similar to the beautiful Hotel Frontenac. The train station, built in 1915, owes its name Gare du Palais to the fact it's located near the site of a former palace. It is beautifully decorated and is a pleasure being inside. As it's a rather small station it is very easy to find your way around.

A great railway station to use.
A great rail station that blends the traditional with the new. It’s relatively small so easy to navigate, we arrived from Montreal. There is a good cafe and clean toilets, outside taxis wait for their next customers. Inside the traditional foyer are lovely touches from a bygone era, huge ceiling lamps and lovely old ticket desk signs.

We had an 8AM train to Montreal and the station was less than 15 minutes downhill from our hotel in Old Town.

The architecture of the station resembled Le Chateau Frontenac. Old world and beautiful on the outside. Inside it was all brick and a little dark.

A convenience store was the only place open at that hour. In the main entrance there was a steakhouse and a dentist office (definitely a first for those who need a last minute checkup before travel??).

the gare is clean and has a few places to eat, but needs a good coffee shop or bakery for morning travellers. was difficult to catch a cab at the front. you will need to get the cab at the side of the building where the buses arrive. follow the signs for taxis

We visited Quebec City using Via Rail. Gare du Palais is a smaller train station and easy to leave and enter. It is also connected with the bus terminal. The station had ample seating when waiting for our train, but Via Rail has no business lounge here. The station architecture is historic and setting like the French inspired Quebec City. A great gateway to and from the city when traveling by train.

A nice historic train station with easy in and out, and co-located with the bus terminal. The station is within close walking distance to most areas in Old Quebec. The only thing is this station did not have a Via Rail business lounge.

Soooo dark, quirky and pretty inside. I love the ceiling beams, hanging lights, carvings, the beautiful clock with its Canadian coat of arms....a truly magical place.

Anyone who admires trains and train stations should visit here as this station has a beautiful design and has been nicely preserved with some new uses. It is busy with real train service and a connection to a bus station. Some food services inside, cabs outside.

While the building is beautiful, I guess I expected something more. Admittedly the ticket counter is really neat and the preserves older style lighting etc. it’s a beat building but I wasn’t completely overwhelmed as expected.
