Upper Old Town Quebec is much larger than the Lower Old Town Quebec and not quite as charming BUT there is so much more to see in Upper Old Town Quebec. Must do them both.

More of a catch-all than a specific location, most of what tourists are looking for will be in the upper town or the lower town, but there is enough ambience to make this a beautiful place to walk around, even if there is no particular...More

Haute-Ville is still a charming quarter of restaurant patios, musicians and artists. The sense of life four hundred years ago is still enchanting. Some of the places I remember from the sixties are not there, and some of the restaurants seem a little less unique....More

Upper Town has many small shops and inviting restaurants near the iconic hotel - some with free WiFi if you need it. There is lots of variety in tourist items such as shirts, trinkets, postcards, and Canadian food treats. Take several hours to wander the...More

Fun to walk around and poke around in all the shops. Lots of history. Wear comfortable shoes - lots of photo ops.

First of all, you have the Chateau Frontenac, which his an attraction all in itself. But then there's the place, the fountain, the churches, the view from the promenade, and so much more! Take your time in this place!

The Upper Town packs quite a punch for being rather a small area. It's easy to walk around, plenty of restaurants and charm!

Most tourists end up at the Upper Town. After all, the most renowned edifices are located here. La Citadelle cannot be missed as it is located at the highest point of this town. It’s quite majestic with all its canons. While walking, we encountered the...More

Can someone explain the distinction between lower town, upper town and old Quebec? Trip Advisor has these 3 listed as separate attractions.

The hop on hop off bus tour was quite pricey. I believe it was close to 40 dollars Canadian per/person. We opted to walk and see everything on foot.
