On the banks of the St. Lawrence River, just 10 km from downtown Montreal, contemporary art rubs shoulders with archaeology and history. Musee de Lachine invites you to discover the storied past of Maison Le Ber-Le Moyne and to explore a major contemporary sculpture garden. In 2017, the Musee is marking the 350th anniversary of Lachine and the 375th of Montreal with special activities focused on the establishment of a trading post at Lachine. Admission is free.

Shouldn't take you more than half an hour to visit. Informative (although only signed in French) but the staff is bilingual and very helpful. There's also an outdoor sculpture garden of mostly Quebecois artists.
