Attractive with skylights and soaring ceilings, spacious and airy feeling. The high end stores, there aren't many, are on the upper level. The lower you go, the less expensive the stores and you lose that airy feeling, too. The food court is pretty good. lots of options, very clean. Connects to other underground shopping....and I suppose, that is the best... More

This is a nice big mall, we seemed to have spent more time in Sephora but also took time to visit other floors including the underground section. We did not think there were may bargains about.

This place has a mix of different types of shops, so don't go in looking for bargains and outlet prices. This shopping mall is in the downtown and that's why it known around or else nothing special here. It more of your typical local mall where to stop to shop a bit grab a bit and leave. The mall is... It is the biggest shopping arcade I have ever seen. Under ground of lots of building connected to each other. You may find anything you need. I think because of the climate this place is different. They have everything except school :)))) mid price range shops and services, nothing too expensive or cheap.

We had travelled to Montreal from Cobourg, ON, via VIA Rail. We headed outside, from the station and decided to go to this mall first. Lots of stores, but similar to some other malls we have been to. We ate at the Crepes place, in the food court. We didn't really shop much here, but walked thru' to see what... More

Same stores as every other major mall in big cities. Winners is not there.. go next door :) But worth a wander when it's cold outside. Easy access from main roads and links to lots of other parts of the underground city

This mall is central-located. The location is super nice but the shops inside were ok. I can find most of the brands in the US. The top floor has so many empty stores. It's cool that we could walk to a lot of places underground. It was very helpful when it's raining/snowing outside. The info desk was very helpful to... More

Working in a building connected to the underground city, I sometimes will go through Centre Eaton either to have lunch or will pass by on my way through the underground tunnels to Place Montreal Trust or Place Ville Marie. I don't do a lot of shopping at Eaton Centre. I will occasionally drop by the La Source store. Some of... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
