Parc Jarry is a pleasant urban green space. It combines playing fields where one can play baseball, soccer, cricket, rugby or even quidditch, with areas for a pleasant stroll. There is something for all ages, including water features and wading pools. Public facilities are available at the back of the building housing the police station.

This park was converted from the famous ball field to a park for everyone. It has wonderful trails, trees and play areas for kids. And squirrels to chase. At the north end behind the police station is a wonderful wading pool for kids with water features and toys and waterproof books to read in the pool. Trails take you to... More

This park has it all for everyone. Relax, fun and frolic for you or the kids. Have a barbecue, have a picnic, play hockey, soccer, basketball, baseball it's all there and enough room for everyone one. It's a pretty big park. Feel safe to top it off because it back on to a police station.

Unlike the Boston commons the Parc Jarry lacks the history but is on par with it's Boston counter-part. Montrealers of the area make it what it is, a microcosm of Montreal's society. Marriage pictures are taken here, Family or group of ethnic montrealers hold out cookouts and picnic's that smell so great you want to become their friends and join... More

Not far from the Petite Italie with its ecsellent eateries, is this park where Jean Paul II came to address the youth..The old convent was rehabbed and augmented by a new wing of Condominiums. If you need used skis, right north of Jarry is a store that sells used sports equipment..also, there is a nice piano Boutique and Cofee Machine... More

Recently attended the Rogers Cup and while the short walk from the Metro through Jarry Park was pleasant, the tennis stadium not so much. First, there is a chronic shortage of parking particularly for major events like the Rogers Cup. And the facilities at the stadium all fall short of comparable venues. Limited toilet facilities here so pack lots of... More

Staying in Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension

Neighbourhood Profile
Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension
The most ethnically diverse of all of Montreal's neighbourhoods, Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension (or, Parc-Ex) stands at the city's centre, a hub for rail and metro traffic. Starting at the old station where the Canadian Pacific used to disembark, the brick-and-mortar surroundings of Parc-Ex have a homey feel, with leafy lawns and bicycle lanes seamlessly incorporated into the landscape. With prominent Greek and Spanish communities, Greektown includes the tastiest stops for brochettes and shawarma, and local bars entertain an excitable soccer fanbase. Jerry Park and Stade Uniprix stand ready for sports diehards to enjoy a game, while the the Complexe Environnemental Saint-Michel and Le Taz skate parks invite athletes to train and compete. Though built for the active and best by day, Cirque du Soleil, the TOHU center for arts, and the Le Boulevard shopping centre offer diversions for those who wish to stay late.
