Mile-End is a quaint yet contemporary quarter teaming with multiculturalism and filled with cafés, bars, restaurants, specialty grocery shops, boutiques, galleries, hot yoga spots, great bakeries and Montreal-style bagels served fresh and hot. Many of its residents are eco-friendly and artistic -- in summer, it is not unusual to see guitarists strumming a tune.

The Portuguese chicken is among the best I've ever had. The Octopus and shrimp starters are excellent. Don't forget to order the Pastel de nata for dessert. Price are reasonable.

The Mile-End is great for dining, shopping, and enjoying green space in the parks. A great area for bicyclist and walking to see the sights. Well, that is pretty much all of Montreal, but I do recommend the Mile-End for travelers.

If you are a traveler who likes to get in to "local" places : this is the spot. It's a very cool, hip calm place.

Took a food tour in this area with "Mile End Montreal Food Tours" and so glad we did as this area is so different from two other areas of Montreal that we enjoyed - Old Montreal and Downtown.
