This place is used for large gatherings and events and you can see why. However outside of that it is a large green space with little to see. If there isn't an event on I would give it a miss.

This is a large lawn behind the City Hall and Edifice Lucien-Saulnier, where there are remnants of the old city wall. Although of historic importance, there is little to see.

This was the place where Montreal's garrison practiced their military skills. Now it's a big lawn behind City Hall, but if you use your imagination you can still hear the soldiers drill. There's a trench with some of the old city walls excavated. With its...More

This is a park behind the Hotel de Ville (City Hall). There are some visible remnants of the original city wall, otherwise very little to see of a historical nature.

There is a Metro-stop and Bixi stand nearby. We just sat for a time on the benches and enjoyed the wide open space with the view on the town hall.

This garden bears the same name like the one next to the Eiffel tower in Paris. However, it is not comparable to it by any means. It is an enormous lawn without much garden work to report.

Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the
Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and
