The place oozes in history. Download the app and it will give you the information on all of the buildings surrounding the square. The baskers are fantastic to listen too. What a bonus.

A great square with lots of seating and shade. The Notre Dame Basilica borders one side. The lighting on the Basilica at night creates a nice effect. There are often musicians playing. Horses and carriages are usually passing by. Small fountain in the middle is...More

A square in front of the basilica with a big statue of the one of the founders of Montreal. It is the centre or hub of old Montreal. Nice place to have a coffee and people watch - we use it as a meeting spot!

A nice European-style square surrounded by mostly historic buildings. The Notre-Dame Basilica faces the square, as does a monumental Bank of Montreal building.

This is a grand square near the Basilica of Notre-Dame in Old Montreal. We passed through it several times during our stay in Montreal. You probably will too. It is central to shopping, dining, and entertainment.

This area (one-block approx) was considerably remodeled in the past years to allow a short rest between visiting attractions. There is nothing much to see, except the Notre-dame basilica just across the street and old buildings like the Aldred building who line up the square,...More

This is a fairly small plaza directly in front of the famous Notre Dame Basilica. When we came out of the church following worship on Sunday, there was a large screen set-up in the plaza with a camera showing the organ keyboard inside the church....More

The place d'Armes is a welcome spot for the footsore tourist or visitor. Plenty of benches and shade trees, the stirring words of Maisoneuve on the central fountain, and Notre-Dame Basilica and the St.-Suplice Seminary on the eastern side of the square. Street musicians entertain,...More

Just opposite the notre dame. You'll pass it no matter what. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit it.

Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to
some of the city's most antiquated buildings and
picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St.
Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums,
festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a
celebrated part of the city that explodes into
fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its
centre, street performers and artists compete with

Most of the parking near the Basilica is street, parallel parking. Also, I know there was at least one small lot a block from the Basilica.
