We took a bus from Jean Talon market to the St Joseph Oratory in the afternoon. From its gates it's imposing dome looked almost like the Sacre Coeur in Paris, perched on top of a hill. I was surprised to find modern escalators and elevators,...More

Beautiful church with beautiful, modern artistic tone. Absolutely awe-inspiring. We attended an English Mass in the crypt chapel. Very moving.

Went here on a warm sunny day and loved how it looked from afar. Going up is a bit of a walk but the view from the top was great. There is historical information available and I learned a lot even without a guide.

Oratory is a landmark in Montreal and is a wonderful sight to behold, from afar. But inside it is dreary and not much to look at. Don't waste your time.

A montreal landmark that should be visited for the visuals, the view of the city, the views from the look outs, and the views form inside where even an atheist like me ca admire the true beauty of something so grandiose.

This was my favorite sight in Montreal. Cathedral was huge and spectacular. Modern stained glass windows. A work of art on a grand scale.

This church is very pretty and the dome was impressive, but as a secular tourist it was not all that interesting. It is also out of the way from many other tourist destinations. There were some devotionals and pilgrimage paths that struck me as interesting...More

Gps led us to a place where there was no charge. I'm not sure what entrance you are referring to. We did not have a charge.
