I watched 2 amazing movies; Humpback Wales and A Beautiful Planet, both super interesting, educational and fun to watch. Imax movies takes you to places that you can't go. It's for adults and kids at the same time. I have seen almost all the movies there, never been disappointed!

We saw the film "Wild Africa". It was an interesting film. The fee is a bit much for a 45 minute film. It was a good rainy day activity.

We always enjoy something that is informative while we travel and we had spent a number of hours wandering through Old Montreal and wanted a break that offered something. We stopped in to see an Imax film and were happy to have had this as an option.

Currently showing Pandas and Cousteau`s Oceania, both excellent presentations, with the latter highlighting creatures with stunning vibrant colors. Definitely recommend for all ages. Check for French and English language showings. Elevator takes handicap to top of theater seating, thereby eliminating climbing.

We saw the Ocean movie in 3D. It appears to be a normal movie theater; nothing special. The movie itself showed selected ocean creatures and corals up close and discussed them. The photography was beautiful and better than most of us can take while diving. We must have expected more because we left disappointed. There is a small fast food... More

It was our first time at the IMAX Old Port for the Jerusalem 3D movie. Great theatre with plenty of room. We purchased our tickets online but tickets can be bought onsite. Parking on site can be expensive (20$). There are other cheaper parking (the Old Port main parking area) only a few minutes from the Centre des Sciences. Street... More

The IMAX Telus Cinema is located in the Montreal Science Center, in Montreal the Old Port. There is a lot of different movies going on at the same time, therefore you have to check the schedule on a regular basis. Most of the movies at this theatre will scientific or National Geographic type documentaries. The place is very clean and... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
