This is a light/laser show in the cathedral. The main show is 15 mins, but they have minor shows around the cathedral that take 5 mins to cycle through, so they list the entire show as a hour. It’s a pretty neat show that is...More
The show itself is amazing and the basilica inside is so beautiful. However just be prepared that the light show itself is only 15 mins long not 45 mins as described on the Aura website!! They include 15 mins before and after the show to...More
This sound and light show was a spectacular experience in one of the country’s oldest and most revered cathedrals. You don’t have to be Catholic to enjoy this show - just respectful and quiet to take it all in. Best seats are in the middle...More
This is just beautiful and mesmerising. What a lovely way to completely relax in this hectic world. I would thoroughly recommend this experience. Well worth the queue to see the inside of this church transformed in an immersive experience.
Wonderful! We pre purchased the tickets, waited on barely any lines, were greeted by friendly staff, the music was powerful, the light show dramatically beautiful and it all just hit your inner core. It was practically sold out, so you need to arrive early to...More
We were disappointed in this. We had seen the long lines of people waiting for the light show and saw the reviews so we decided we had to see it. First of all, it's expensive and second, the actual light show is 15-20 minutes long....More
Aura Basilique presents itself as a sound and light show (or Son et Lumiere, given that this is Montreal) but in reality there is way too much sound and not nearly enough light. Supposedly 45 minutes long, the first 15 consists of looking around the...More
I can't believe people would complain about this light show. Remember this is a
church, not Disneyland. They need to retain a certain sense of reverence and solemnity, so there is no"master of ceremonies". The incredible laser display speaks for itself.
It is true that...More
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with
sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.

We went to the show August 16, 2018. When we arrived people were already lining up 45 minutes ahead of time. They probably started letting us in about 20 minutes ahead of time. I thought I read somewhere that you should be there at least 15 minutes ahead of time because they close the doors when the show starts. Sit more toward the back, maybe 3/4 of the way back to better see the light show that often is above you while watching. You probably know this already but you can also buy the tickets online ahead of time, that is what we did. It is a nice show, I hope you enjoy it.

The senior ticket for my wife and I was 22.20 Canadian each, but I ordered them while still in the states. I already have my credit card statement and with the conversion they were only 17.27 U.S. Definitely worth it for the light show in a beautiful basilica.
