Spring 2005, La Distillerie No.1 first saw the day in Montreal, at the corner of Ontario and Sanguinet streets, in the heart of the vibrant Latin Quarter. Founded on a unique concept with the help of a passionate team, La Distillerie sought to introduce its guests to the universe of cocktails. In order to reach more people, we opened two more establishments on the Plateau Mont-Royal and in Rosemont-La-Petite-Patrie. We aim to serve a high-quality product in a cozy and convivial atmosphere. Beyond preparing and serving cocktails, we want to create spaces where people can come together and connect, and where you can feel good regardless of your age, where you're from, and whether you've chosen to wear your jogging pants or your bowtie to go out. Whether it's your first or hundredth visit, it'll be a pleasure for us to make you a custom beverage, so don't hesitate to put us to the test!

I arrived on a Saturday night around 8:30. There was already a line outside. I waited approximately fifteen minutes to enter. I decided to sit at the bar. The bar is cozy (small). There was a friendly vibe inside. The music was playing at the right level so you may still carry a conversation. There is not a kitchen, but... More

We visited La Distillerie in April as it was recommended online. We went early (around 7.30pm) and had to wait around 25 minutes to get in. I can see why as the bar is great! Definitely worth the wait. We sat at the bar and tried the large jug cocktails, one mojito and one fruitier cocktail. Both were delicious. We... More

Excellent drinks, a little bit of a wait outside but completely 10000% worth it. The waitstaff was nice and attentive, the music was great, and the atmosphere was fabulous. Would recommend it to anyone staying in Montreal!

Thanks so much! :) We're sorry about the wait, we wish we could accommodate more guests but our space is quite small! We do have 2 more locations in Montreal which tend to be a little bit less crowded. Cheers! More

I try to go to this bar every time I visit Montreal. I've been once early in the evening and then this most recent visit. The later it gets, the harder it is to get in. They have games you can play while you drink, and the atmosphere is great. Then there are the drinks. If you like mixed drinks,... More

Fun drinks at a reasonable price considering the amount of work that goes into them. We both really enjoyed the drink selections and friendly bartenders. Would visit again while in Montreal!

I go here every single time I come to Montreal - which is every couple of weeks. Amazing vibes, amazing staff, great music, amazing drinks. La Distillerie is always a great time. Always buy the litre. It's worth every dollar, and will get you a good level of tipsy.

I came here with my boyfriend on a Friday night after dinner for a few drinks. The bouncer outside was very pleasant and efficient, and I liked that they had the menu outside since the drinks are more complex. The drinks were great! Super tasty, good pours, and not too expensive. I had a ziggy stardust and a mojito with... More

We arrived in Montreal at about Midnight and were directed here by a cool server at Saint Houblon. The atmosphere and drinks were great and the servers and bartender made the experience very enjoyable.

I had an excellent time! The staff are very friendly and the place has a lovely environment! A tad dark, like any other bar but I really enjoyed this place.

We stopped by this bar last Monday night on our two-night visit to Montreal. What a great place! Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theatres, and exhibition centres are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
