We picked up the Massawippi Trail just out of North Hatley and followed it along the Massawippi River to Bishop's University in Lennoxville. We then followed the trail along the Saint Francois River into Sherbrooke. ( This trail continues to Richmond.) We had a pleasant lunch in Sherbrooke and then returned to North Hatley. The trail is crushed stone but... More

Incredible, underused network of cycling paths that connect the Gaspesie region to the western part of Quebec. I cycled from Rimouski through St.Luce, to St.Flavie one afternoon, there and back in 5 hours. Along the way I poked around in the villages and the shops. From St. Flavie back to Rimouski, I flew and made it back in 1 hour... More

We stayed in Beauport, right on the Route Verte at the N Hotel, a clean, quiet, basic motel located 3 miles outside the city, surrounded by local restaurants. Spent two days cycling 50 miles off-road on this trail -- all over Quebec City and up to Montmorency Falls. You can also go to the St Anne de Beaupre cathedral or... More

Québec has much to be proud of in developing a cycling network that spawned a booming tourism industry. I love cycling on Route Verte. I lived in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu in the early 2000's and often cycled to Chambly on weekends, often dining for lunch before heading back. More recently, I introduced my partner to cycling both near Montréal and then Québec... More

The bike path between North Hatley and Lenoxville is a 30 km round trip path along the old railroad line. The surface throughout this entire section is well packed with little to no stones making it a smooth and quiet ride. The path runs through woods, farm fields, and along the Massawippi River with stunning views right up to Lenoxville... More

Much of this was totally perfect. We took 5 days to be able to stop and explore. This meant about 80 km (50 miles?) per day. The weather in July was great -- sunny, warm, not too hot except the last day. We got off the main, intended route several times -- usually accidently It could be better marked --... More
