I walk through Hazleton Lanes at least once a week. At present, there are major renovations going on which doesn't exactly make for a pleasant experience, although, most of the shops remain open for business. Whole Foods is definitely the draw and the cafe is always full of regulars from the hood. Very ritzy high end clothing stores. Hopefully, the... More

The Hazelton Lanes Shopping Centre is a shopping centre located in the ritzy section of Toronto, in the Yorkville neighborhood. Little, well-lit walkways separated areas around the shopping center that made it hard to locate it. We arrived there by foot to find the Whole Foods Market, which was located in the underground level of the centre. There was a... More

We came for a great shopping experience but this mall did not look very inviting from the outside. There was a lot of construction work going on, all very dirty and partially dismantled so we decided to move on.

We were in Toronto for Victoria Day. My wife had seen an ad for Hazelton Lanes and thought it looked like an interesting place to visit and shop. The shopping centre website indicated that they would be open for the holiday, so we made it a point of stopping by. Our first disappointment was that the place is in the... More

Hazelton Lanes is slightly off the beaten track on Avenue Road just north of Yorkville. What makes it special is a superb ladies' fashion store called Hugo Nicholson. Here you can find the best European designer names, with products to match, an arguably better and certainly more tempting assortment than you will find on Bloor Street. My wife has chosen... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
