This is the place to meet with friends. The vibe is relaxed, the food is above-average for a pub/tavern, and it has an old Toronto (in a good way) vibe that is hard to find. Cozy inside in winter, lovely on the patio under the big parachute. The service is the best, too!

This charming pub and restaurant with a delightful outdoor patio. The food and drinks are good pub fare and the staff are very friendly. Located just above Bloor Street.

Don't look like you're enjoying yourself. The fun must be controlled. The fire marshal takes fun very seriously. Sit quietly please

This intimate little pub has a great beer selection and offers a nice selection of better pub grub in the small restaurant. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Shut the front door!!! If you've never had a cheese penny you don't know what your missing. Is soft warm cheese with spicy spinach in the center. Crispy kettle fries hand made and hot bartender to boot.

From the overall experience I'll give them a 1 out of 5 stars for rude service and mediocre food. If you want good service & quality food..Summerhill has better places. The Monk's Table is one of them.

Most of my reviews are left for the benefit of travellers. In the case of Rebel House I really doubt travellers will be looking for a special place like this in this area. Not really a touristy area. I live in British Columbia and was in Toronto, and invited to join an old friend here for lunch. She grew up... More

We visited with my daughter on the weekend and were taken out for brunch at the Rebel House on Yonge… The service was great and the overall feel of the place was that of a “proper” English pub… A great selection of offerings and I probably could have stayed there all day… there just seemed to be so many things... I've been to the Rebel House five or more times for lunch, and never been disappointed. Great list of beers on tap...and an impressive little lunch menu. They do a meatball special which has to be one of the best lunches in the neighbourhood.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
