The Hannaford Street Silver Band calls this home and even has its name on the building. This is a well-deserved honor, as this British-style brass band (no French horns, of course!) plays some of the most interesting and challenging music written for this up-an-coming genre....More

This play is a "must see". The script is terrific, the acting strong and moving, and the staging enhanced but did not take over the drama. The play was pretty much sold out with a high school group there, which meant for a noise-y and crowded...More

We were in the Bluma Appel Theatre for a performance of Julie, an opera by Philippe Boesmans. The work itself was generally interesting and attractive, although it had some limitations. The theatre is first-rate. The seats are comfortable, the sightlines good, and as a whole...More

Great venue. good comedian. The centre needs the get there stories straight on what food and drink can go into the auditorium. Buddy selling me my coffee says yes than I get down to our seats and lady says no.

Nice theatre but beware of two things - the heat is too high and more importantly the second floor has no elevator - quite a deterrent in this day and age when things should be accessible to those with mobility issues.

The Bluma Appel Theatre is about 1000 seats. The programming is more artsy than formula musicals. The appeal is what's on the stage, smaller productions and often avant garde.

Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination
for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip

a strong student influence from the Ryerson University
Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in
flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities,
with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to
