This is a terrific place to go with family or friends, or just hang out by yourself to people watch or appreciate the excellent architecture. No visit would be complete without a visit to the iconic Toronto letter sign.

I am not a big fan of ice and cold, but I remember one day when we had to go as a group in the cold. I like the atmosphere. It's vibrant and lively. Other than that, there is nothing else. It's a busy city square!

This Square has all the things Toronto is proud of! With City Hall located there and year round events, you can definitely say this is one of the most Toronto representing places in the whole city

It's a square next to the Eaton Centre. You can see the old city hall and the new one too. Don't forget to take a picture at TORONTO letters.

Lovely open space currently with a big Toronto sign good for pictures. There looks like at Christmas there could be some nice decorations but not sure. Just a nice spot to sit and relax for a bit.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
