with a friend who lives nearby, we took an afternoon walk out to the beach below the bluffs. was a bit of a chill but sun was out. Saw the swans and some blackbirds. Saw a deer off the road and looked for a beaver our friend regularly sees. Great stones for skipping. Kids had fun. Dress warmly and bring... More

I visit Bluffers Park at least once a year and always when friends from out of town come to visit. The park is alongside Lake Ontario with many walking trails and very interesting scenery. The eroded tall cliffs are amazing to see and the area is great for exploring or just relaxing on the grass. There are even areas to... More

I am a Scarborough boy born and raised, lived here all my life. When I think of Scarborough, I think of the bluffs. Bluffers Park is a great little secluded area for a nice family day out or even a picnic. It really does define Scaborough. When it was the City of Scarborough, the bluffs were so important they were... More

Brimley south of Kingston Road. Free parking, lots of walkways near the water, as well as a marina, and a really nice beach. Also benches and a few picnic tables. Bathrooms should be open during the day but are locked. Really dumb. Recommended

Always enjoy sitting on the balcony overlooking the small boats and lake. The service is very friendly and the food is good. Worth the drive. Only restaurant in Toronto located on the water. Downstairs is a more pub like restaurant.

The bluffs are unique to Toronto... there is not one other place like it in the city. Tall sculpted sandstone cliff shaped by teh lake and currents over thousands of years... There are marinas, yacht clubs, a large park and an amazing white sand beach that is very popular. (yes even a couple of restaurants)

Staying in Scarborough

Neighbourhood Profile
Scarborough
Situated astride Lake Ontario, Scarborough is a district heavily influenced by immigration. With a number of low-rent shopping and dining options making it a highly affordable part of town, and boasting one of Toronto's largest shopping malls, the otherwise green suburban neighborhood is a good place to go for bargains and discounts. It also draws in photographers. The spires, archways, and cavernous rooms of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Palace are filled with breathtaking art, architecture, and detailed reliefs – it’s like entering a different world, The ruins of columns and installation art at the Guild Inn makes a free-for-all exploration site, while the big-name draw for young photographers is the menagerie at the Toronto Zoo. While many visitors shirk Scarborough as too suburban, its houses are some of Toronto's most mystical and haunting architectural beauties. And for adventure lovers, it has river-rafting and some unique hiking trails.
