Went to see "Avenue Q" through a groupon special. It was our first time here and we almost walked right past the place. Found the entranceway inside odd, but once you got upstairs it seemed okay. The room we were in was very small, I was surprised that there weren't assigned seats. Play was good, very professional and enjoyable. I'd... More

My 8 year and I really love going to this theater. We get all dolled up and make a day of it. The performers at this theatre along with the staff are really amazing and they make you feel apart of each and every show. I've attend performances both with and without my daughter for various productions and we are... More

This was my first time at this theatre. This performance was recommended to us by family. It was FABULOUS! The musical numbers were very well done and the overall performance was very well choreographed. There were a few stand-out characters that really took the show. The young man (Steve Vlahos) who played Curtis was exceptional. Of course the leading ladies... More

Have been attending various productions at the LOT for 5 years now - never a disappointment. Loved Avenue Q and Joseph!

We had the pleasure of seeing Sister Act. A suggestion was made that they sell popcorn as well. The cast had amazing energy. My only critique would be that the music overpowered the singers. The man who played the Spanish speaking bad guy could not be heard at all.

This theatre is tucked away on Ossington and is very easy to miss - outside looks nothing like the picture 🙄 Stages are small and seating is on folding chairs, but the people who run it are gems - personable, helpful and enthusiastic. The play we saw was well presented and acted and thoroughly enjoyable. This is great value for... More

I keep being impressed by the Ossington Theatre. In December a group of 4 of us saw Sister Act, which was superbly acted with excellent vocals, sound and lighting. Last year we saw Avenue Q. At very reasonable prices, you know you will have see excellent theatre and have a great time at the Ossington Theatre.

My partner and I run regular events for a group called Bucket List Toronto - and we have huge groups doing fun things all the time. We had a group of 30 attend an event run by the LOT last night. From start to finish, there was NO sense of appreciation, nor a desire to help us try to sit... More

We went to see Mary Poppins and were blown away by the production! It was phenomenal acting, great story and a most enjoyable evening. We look forward to our visit next year and hope to attend other play.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
