Signed up for the walking tour with 2 seniors a groom to be and 2 brother-in-laws all looking to avoid being anywhere near the wedding shower. Tough to find something to do that everyone would enjoy with an age range from 38 to 78! This was a complete success though, everyone enjoyed it. Our tour guide Eric was incredibly knowledgeable... Highly recommend this tour! Segways are hilarious fun and Gavin's the man! The Distillery District is a beautiful area to explore and the tour gives you the story behind it all. I'm not normally a history buff but this was fascinating and Gavin made it highly entertaining. And... the hot chocolate was to die for :)

Gavin Pounds and Katie Coseni did a great job with our training and tour. They made it a lot of fun! Even our 2 teenagers put this among their "top 3" activities of our trip to Toronto. The Segways are easy to learn and the Distillery District is a great place to ride. Highly recommend!!

The segways were really easy to learn and it's a great way to learn about the distillery. Guides (Eric and Will) were very talkative and nice.

Excellent. Guide was knowledgeable and passionate. Great chocolate and beer tasting. Interesting area of town. For history buffs, this is a must since many of the historical aspects are hidden.

Fun tour of the Distillery District on the Segway. I’ve been on a Segway before but getting a chance to practice before the tour starts really helps. My guides, Erik and Will, were entertaining as they told us the history of the area. The stops for beer and chocolate samples are a nice touch too. I enjoyed the tour so... More

This was our first Segway tour. It was a great way to learn about Toronto and the Distillery District. Katie and Eric provided some insider information about 'must do' attractions in the area. We laughed at their jokes, but we gained a lot of historical information as well. We would definitely do it again, but probably allow for more time... More

They are pretty funny, aren't they?! You have a great recommendation on spending time walking around afterward, it's a great neighbourhood to explore on your own or on one of our Walking Tours. More

Erik was an amazing guide. He knows his stuff, he is passionate and funny. He accepted to do a mix of the Ditillery District Tour and the Prohibition and Whisky Tour since I was very interested in the prohibition/whisky aspect of the district. I highly recommend this tour if you want to learn more about the history of Toronto.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
