I visited Black Creek Pioneer Village 30 years ago with my elementary school - I recently took my own kids and was pleasantly surprised how they made history come to life! The kids mixed, cut and baked cookies - and watched candles being dipped and a black smith at the forge. Really educational, informative and fun.

Love this place as it brings back my school day memories. I have been there often and not much has changed. Great spot to show the kids and parents for that matter who seem to be so entitled. Reality check of how easy they all have it.

We have been members of Black Creek Pioneer Village for 3 of the past 5 years and this place never disappoints. At Christmas we go with the whole extended family and take our Santa pictures here. The Sherlock Holmes Maple Mystery was such a creative and fun way for the kids to enjoy the village yet again. I just adored... More

March break visit with a 8, 9 and 10 year old and these kids had an unbelievably good time. They were literally running from building to building talking about how interesting everything was. The characters were so great with the kids especially Ms. Moriarty, Sherlock Homes, Dr. Watson, Dr. Smith, Mrs.Burr, Poppy and Mrs. Stong. Maple Syrup demo was great.... More

It is a very cute village with a lot to see. If you are into history or want to educate your kids about "olden days" this is a perfect place to visit. I found stuff to be very friendly and knowledgeable except for one lady that was working at the Sugar Shack. She obviously doesn't like kids and when asked... More

Started visiting this park when I was in elementary school and fell in love. We go every year. Spring and Fall are the best times. Always interactive discussions and examples of a working pioneer village. There is a nice tea shop, snacks, gift shops. I love the live animals and gardens they use the foods for in the restaurant. They are almost finished a subway station here so it will be super accessible. Lots of history and interesting place to see how people lived in Toronto 100's of years ago.

This place will take you back to a time when most of what you needed you made yourself. You had to make your own soap, grow your food, weave cloth to make clothes and make your own candles. But it was also a time when families were close and worked together and were part of a tight community. The kids... More

An amazing place to learn about life in Upper Canada a couple of centuries ago. Lot's of buildings to tour inside - some residential, some businesses such as a blacksmith, printing house. In some there are costumed staff which explain how things used to be done. Unfortunately in some of the houses the staff is not too engaging and you... More
