We walked down to see the legislative building and walk around the grounds, it’s just a large field of dandelions. Don’t waste your time here.

I love it here. It's quite close from our house here, and it is amazing to relax. We were working close by, and it was amazing to get lunch sitting on the benches here. Many squirrels, nice people exercising, beautiful views. Worth a visit if time is not a problem in your visit in toronto.

-approx 3 times a year they hold a 45 minute tour followed by "high tea" complete with a musical recital - it cost $25 (they regularly have free 30 minute tours that you can get into any time, so this was special)
-check their webpage - search for Tea and Tour in the educational portal-when I attended in May 2013, on this particular day the recital invovled three actors from Curtain Call Players (I recognized them as I've seen many of their performances at Fairview Mall Library Theatre - but that is for a different review) These actors sang, recited poems and entertained with short dialoges all in period costume
-hot tea was served with crustless sandwiches and pastries
- a lovely way to spend the afternoon

-a tour of the interior of Queen's Park is lovely - lots of art work, history of the building, beautiful chandeliers and of course the work of the legislative assembly
-they are working on revealing the frescos in the legislative assembly that are currenlty covered in six layers of paint - it will take years but it will be gorgeous when completed!

the homeless are making their homes in the day and makes it difficult to appreciate the surroundings when these people need a home and have to use the grass to pee on and picnic tables to spread their collections. not very clean

This is a grand Provincial Legislature on a lovely piece of urban parkland. The trees are plentiful, the grounds are well kept. There are the usual statuaries of noble politicians and guys on horses, my favourite however is of a poet; Mr.Al Purdy. If I were in charge I'd renew some bench seating and add some more picnic benches. I didn't spot a fountain, that would be nice. The building has tours still, I took one as a school kid. check before your visit if the streets are closed for festivals which, post Covid, are starting to return. Parking is nearby, there's more to see nearby (ROM, Art Gallery). Come by transit, it's easy and cheap.

Toronto has a waterfront with many small parks, but this is the largest to be found in the city. Sad to see people skate boarding on the center statue, but at least it's a green space with park benches and borders Univ. of Toronto

A grassy field with some trees. The place of many protests trying to get the attention of provincial politicans. Skip this place.

A place to go, to walk through or to ride a bike. Relaxing ambience. When I came for a walk, there was people meditating in a ioga class. Really beautiful place to stay for a while and recover some energy.

Before the legislative building, it was the site of a lunatic asylum. Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.

When the legislature is in sitting, it is possible to get in and listen to question period, when questions are put to ministers of the government, part of the parliamentary process.
