NICE WALK ON THE BEACH

Visit summer time and have a great walk on the beach. Although you are by the lake it seems as if the ocean is in front of you. Nice relaxing walk and great view of the lake.

Apart from parking being challenging if you don't get there early, and the streetcar being a long ride, it is worth the trek. Nicer when not crowded, so mornings before 10 have you feeling you could be anywhere. The shops are typical tacky tourist fare for those who don't put nature first, so there is something for everyone. Nice that... More

Best kept secret! Small, friendly area with trees, parks and a fabulous beach with charcoal use hibatchis. Several dog friendly parts to the beach itself. All stores welcome dogs and many have water bowls in front and dog treats inside. Only stores that do not allow them are those that sell food. Nice assortment of restaurants and shops. Friendly people.... More

The Beaches ... or the beach ... regardless of what you call it, there is something for everyone. Shopping, lunch, a drink by the water, play parks, walking paths, pools, and of course the lake. Whatever you want, it is there. Parking can be a challenge, so head down early and find a spot at Ashbridge's Bay or the other... More

It is a village within the big city of Toronto. Great restaurants, great beach, great boardwalk, Olympic pool on the waterfront and a bus ride to the subway or downtown Toronto.

There are many restaurants & cafes (most have gluten free options) , as well as many interesting stores. Best of all you walk can walk south to the boardwalk and take a scenic walk (the boardwalk is about 5 miles long). Dog friendly - there are 2 leash free parks (Kew Beach & the east end of the boardwalk). From... More

An old area along Queen Street up from the actual beach. A real mix of coffee shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, and many other types of retail establishments. Also home to the ancient Fox Cinema. Worth a walk along Queen to see it all if you are interested in neighbourhoods. Recommended.

Everyone here from the corner store owner to the servers at the numerous mediocre restaurants have attitude. Highly missable. Walk down to the actual Lake Ontario shore line and stroll the boardwalk and have an ice creme.

Staying in East End

Neighbourhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
