I grew up around this neighbourhood and its a great little area. Its a strip along Bloor from about Runnymede to Jane station ( a little bit longer than that). Wonderful cute shops, a couple bars, and some delicious restaurants. Not too much happening here on a weekend night but a lovely area to walk around in the early evening... More

We accidentally stumbled upon this town during a trip to Toronto and instantly fell in love. Great place to walk around, shop, or grab a bite to eat. There are lots of friendly people walking around, and it seems as though many people walking down the street know each other. Many eateries to choose from, and the one we chose... More

Every Sunday morning I go to Bloor West Village to shop for my fruit and vegetables, bakery items, and fresh flowers. The atmosphere is great. Surprisingly the fruit and vegetables are cheaper than at the big box stores as are the beautiful fresh flowers. I love going there, it is a lovely start to my week.

There are so many different shops and intriguing store fronts that becon you to enter, in this diverse neighborhood. It's a blend of old and new with restaurants and bakeries for every kind of palate. Have brunch or just coffee in one of the many "outside" cafes. You will not be disappointed.

I really love this area and try to visit it whenever I go to Toronto. Clean, safe, and has tons of personality. Sit in a café or just people watch.

Go early at night - like 6 or so - to get parking in a public lot behind Bloor, or maybe on street if you're lucky. Walk a few blocks to get the feel of this great neighbourhood.

If you want to experience shopping or window shopping or go for dinner or beer in a local Toronto setting, this is the place. Great neighborhood, great crowd, and the beautiful High Park is just a walking distance. Lots of local stores and restaurants and pubs.

I last visited a few days ago, this was the area I've lived in for over 3 years. To be safe, over 3 1/2 years. It got different shops ranging from restaurants, bookstore(s), drugstore(s)/pharmacies,hair salon/barbers, etc.. Excellent!

Sure there are a few nice restaurants, but try walking along Bloor Street on a weekend. Not sure why so many people have to have these monster strollers.

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
The go-to area for new business start-ups, the spry and creative persona of the West End thrives along its streets. Its independent boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and shops offer brands that can't be found elsewhere. Buildings with ground floor consumer spaces sport up-top artist's lofts, and the West End attracts artists, designers, and fashion industry professionals to its living quarters. It is in the cross-hairs of gentrification, but still resisting it with ironic relish. Hot deals can still be found here on furniture and knick-knacks,. Its call to culinary glory is in its well-priced homemade Polish food, hosting Toronto's go-to spots for hot pierogis and cold borscht. High Park, the largest green space in the city, is a place for dreamers and poets to wander and rest, not to mention a number of energetic actors staging outdoor plays in the summertime.
