I enjoyed this tour immensely. Our guide was knowledgeable of the subject matter --Toronto's graffiti art scene- and she also was very pleasant. She led a very interesting tour. We also had the bonus of bumping into one of the graffiti artists while on tour! Will definitely try one of their other tours again...

Honestly, my expectations were not too high given that it is free tour (it was my first time in such kind of city tour). For my surprise, however, this tour ended up being better than I imagined it would. It as good, or perhaps better, than a regular paid city tour from a major tourism company. I would say the... I was on the Downtown Toronto tour with Molly today and she was not only very nice but also very knowledgeable about the area. When one of the buildings we wanted to see was closed, she improvised and showed us another building with a very interesting history. I have booked onto the old town tour next week!

This tour through downtown Toronto was excellent and a great experience. The tour guide Tim, was very friendly and immediately gave everyone a good feeling and talked to each participant of the tour. He had an incredible knowledge about the city, especially the architecture and history of downtown Toronto and everything he showed us was interesting, from the underground path... More

Tim was a wonderful tour guide on the Toronto History Tour. I thoroughly enjoyed the stories and his unique storytelling skills of Toronto's fascinating past. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone spending a day or two in Toronto and will definitely be signing up for others on my next visit - thanks for making the afternoon somemorable!

We went to the ghost tour and it was great. It wasn't one of these tours that tell children stories of ghosts. In this tour Julian told us ghost stories but then he explained with facts why that happened and why there were actually no ghosts involved. He is an expert on the field and can give endless information, scientific... More

I went on two brilliant tours with Goalshan, the business district tour starting at Union station and then the downtown Toronto tour looking at old and new Toronto. Goalshan was able to talk about the city in great detail and with great passion. I learnt loads! I'm visiting my boyfriend who lives in Toronto and he was impressed with how... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
