Great way to get an overview of the city

My husband and I did the Niagara Falls tour recently with the MIB, "professor" Michael. It was excellent. Michael was both knowledgeable and entertaining and the day flew by. We obviously visited the Falls (which are impressive) but we also stopped for lunch at the lovely Niagara on the Lake and tried some ice wine on the way back to... More

Not all tour guides are created equal. We had one that seemed to be reading everything - and another who loved the city at its rich history. That was way more interesting. Either way, these bus tours are a great way to shuttle around town and learn about it at the same time.

With only one day in Toronto I chose this tour as it offered a comprehensive tour of the city. Resonable priced at $45 for the day. This is a single loop tour with 21 stops. Also includes a 45 minute cruise. Buses are clean and mostly modern, but for those want the London experience there is an old London bus.... More

We booked a tour to the Niagara Falls and Niagara on The Lake. We had so much fun on our trip. We went to the journey behind the falls, then we ate at Elements with an amazing look to the falls. Later we went to the town of Niagara on the Lake and saw the shops and the small town.... More

When you go Toronto be sure to try this city bus tour. You will have no worries if you get lost. We did a toronto-Niagara tour and we really enjoyed it. Dont forget to tip the bus driver as they dont get much salary. I enjoyed the lake ontario as there was a small town quiet, peaceful and i did some... More

Booked on line before getting to Toronto, hoho passes were for 7 days because we booked a day trip to Niagara Falls too. About $100 per person so very reasonable. Used the hoho for two days, some buses were better than others, some tour guides were better than others as is always the case. As someone said before if you... More

My wife and I signed up for the hop on hop off bus, good for two days. We have always had a good experience with this service in other cities, and it's a great way to get a "lay of the land" before setting out on your own. We hopped on at stop one of about 20 stops. We got... More

A great way to explore all of Toronto's various districts with good commentary - some better than others. Complimentary boat tour around the Islands was also brilliant with more commentary and good music!

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
