We happened to be in Toronto over a long holiday weekend. A special kids event called the circus was held at the harbourfront. They had so many free activities for kids like superhero mask and cape making, paper airplane making, live shows, a swing/flying exhibit, Legos and many more. There were also food trucks at the venue, though it was... More

There is no much to do, but that is the best part, it is not overly comercialized with shoppes and food stans, nothing like that, it is a nice walk and ther are a couple of museums and a venue for concerts. There is also an indoor shopping center with a very nice upscale supermarket and a couple of fast... More

Something's always on, and you can often spot artists in their studios, onsite. A giftshop/gallery, and a cafe nearby. Good stop on a walk along the waterfront of Toronto.

Although it can be very busy at times this area has lots to see and lots to do. It's a blast when it busy and you get to see things you missed when it's slower. A definite must visit if you are headed to the city!

We visited the Harbourfront off season on a beautiful off season Sunday. Although there weren't any activities going on, it was a great place to sit under the many benches and chairs with umbrellas provided. Great place for a picnic.

We attempted to take one of the cruises, however we arrived too late. We still checked out this area as it is so gorgeous: lots of buildings near it and more being built and that amazing water and blue skies you would think you are in the tropics!!! Or maybe we were fortunate to be having a great day.

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
