lots to see and relatively quiet

had friends from USA visit. We stayed downtown Toronto and went for a walk down here. Was a very nice, quiet break from the action of the city.

I love this area because of the rich diversity of cultural groups and exciting activities that are available throughout the year. Many artists call this area home with studios throughout the area. There is a working glass production studio I particularly like as you can actually sign up to create a piece. Additionally, you can actually walk through the working... More

Visited here around 11am on a weekend and we loved the stroll around along the shore line. Beautiful and a relaxing few hours spent.

we love the annual swedish christmas fair. It is so much fun. The brigantine room offers goods for sale that are traditionally swedish. Everything from food, drink and decor and gifts. You can also purchase traditional swedish baked goods and lunch. The second floor offers a children's area where kids can bake gingerbread and more. The highlight is the St... More

During the summer and especially on the weekends there is almost always something happening here. During the cultural festivals, watch your kids and hold their little hands! It can be busier than a beehive. It's like an outdoor bazaar during those days. A little bit of everything: fair, bazaar, concert.

There's typically always something interesting going on each week-end and those activities are free for the most part. Food is available on site and in close proximity. Family accessible, making it a go-to place for young families of all ages

A great destination whether for free public skating in winter, or walking through the word on the street festival; plenty to do and like at the harbourfront.

This is one of our favorite places in Toronto. It is quite beautiful, a scenic view of the lake, and lots of activities to be done. Check the website for updates ok the schedule.

Beautifull place for a walk, some shops and restaurants around the area. It is a great place to view the Toronto islands, take some pictures and see the sunset.

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
