A really good day out - with an excellent guide (Mel). We were just three people so went by car. Toronto traffic (in and out) was something of a trial - but Mel kept us super-informed with history and anecdotes (even poems). Niagara Falls are always worth a repeat visit - and this time a trip up the Skylon Tower... More

We took this tour in late March. Recommended by the tourism office, as we had a tour booked with Zoom Tours, who pulled out at the last minute. As there were only 4 people in total, we went round in car. Mel is incredibly knowledgeable and has a great dry sense of humor - thoroughly enjoyed the day!

This was a very good value for money tour taking in the Falls, Niagara on the Lake and a vineyard. The vehicle was modern and comfortable and the driver/guide was very knowledgable and informative keeping up an appropriate commentary for much of the time. He also kept us well supplied with snacks and water if we wanted it. The tour... More

We had a wonderful time with our trip to Niagara Falls organised by the Chariots of Fire Ltd. The guide, Mel, was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable on the history and stories and presented them vividly to us, which made the journey very interesting. We are very content with the arrangement.

I cannot recommend this tour enough! Mel, our guide and driver, is extremely knowledgeable and delivers a fantastic tour with ongoing commentary that includes in-depth history, interesting trivia and perfectly timed witticisms. I traveled alone and felt comfortable the whole time. Mel picked us up and delivered us at the promised time. He had expert advice for each place, morning... More

Our guide Mel was very knowledgeable and very drole. It turned out that we were the only two customers of the day so we had an intimate and fact-filled trip by car to Niagara. Mel was kind and considerate and his professional tour-guiding made our day - his commentary as full of character as content. Recommended.

Being the only two on the tour, I am so glad that they went ahead and didn’t pull the pin given the competitive rates because we had such a great time! The tour was well organised and well executed by our guide/driver Mel whom was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The falls itself were great, being in March there were little... More

We were recommended this trip by a really helpful volunteer at the Union Station information desk and we're so pleased we managed to book it. We were collected from 33 Yonge Street as promised and instantly our guide started to give us information about the day/tour. There were only 4 of us on the trip today and it was brilliant... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
