We normally sit in the balcony for performances at the Avon Theatre, but this time chose the orchestra level. Sightlines were good, although aided since no one sitting directly in front of us. We were there for a performance of Pinafore which we thoroughly enjoyed, with a good use of the set on a somewhat restricted stage.

Was just at this theatre to see HMS Pinafore, which we enjoyed but this is a review for the theatre. There is a nice combination of the old and new. The lobby and store are fairly new and very clean. The inside gives the feel of being old. However, they have renovated the orchestra seats. We have been to this... More

While I can't say anything really bad about the performance, the energy didn't rise and the audience was unusually unenthusiastic. I've rarely been to a show where there was so little applause. 6 of the 7 of us left the theatre pretty flat and uninspired. We've seen both Pinafore and Pirates of Penzance in Stratford in the past and those... More

We had been to Avon theatre in the past and sat up on the balcony. We found the seats there extremely tight, no space / legroom for tall people. This time, we were closer to the back of the orchestra. Since it is a small theatre, even closer to the back of the orchestra was fine, not too far, as... More

The production at the Avon theater was very good and well worth seeing. The theater itself is very nice. Usually at intermission there are long lines to use the facilities but the bathrooms were a good size which made things go quickly. The gift shop attached to theater had a wide selection of things to purchase.

Cindy chairs, good stage visibility from every seat, very friendly staff, and of course the great program every season. As the crowd pleasers go to the largest theatre the Avon has a more intimate feeling, and yet has the convenience of being downtown and all the amenities

We like to expose our 8 year old to live theater and the Stratford Festival has provided great entertainment in the past 3 years with The Sound of Music; The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe; and Treasure Island. Our first two visits went without a hitch but, when she heard there were going to be loud noises in Treasure... More

I was lucky enough to see three Stratford Festival performances this past season. The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe was the final one I saw and I bought the tickets as a surprise for a friend for her birthday. She absolutely loved the performance, and even though we were seated quite high up on the balcony, we were still... More
