To think they once talked about tearing this building down and putting up a hotel! I have been around the world and nothing seems to fit a place quite like this building does downtown Stratford. The market square is historically significant and vintage photos tell...More

Beautiful architecture, you can take nice pictures of the city hall from both sides. There are sits and many stores in the area.

Thank heavens for Pierre Berton! Besides chronicling Canada's history like no one else he helped save Stratford City Hall when it was about it be torn down to make way for a new "modern" building. The loss would have been incalculable. It is unclear how...More

Unfortunately, we hadn't the time to see inside, but the outside is worth a look for its late 18th century Jacobean and Queen Anne revival architecture, which incorporated eclectic styles, as well. The hall was under construction 1898, after a fire the previously year destroyed...More

Set in the heart of the town. Stratfod City hall is a statueque building that dominates its towns heart. Nice architecture and the town has obviously maintained the buildings standard, which it deserves.

A beautiful land mark of Stanford which is built from red bricks which is lovely in the late afternoon when the sun is over the building.

Now that the new pedestrian square has opened, you can sit and admire this historic building which my wife and I did during our recent visit to Stratford. My only concern is that when we did so after dinner at one of the nearby small...More

This is a really beautiful building. Go inside and look at the dedication plaque on the right-hand wall just past the main entrance. Take a minuet to read the story behind it!
