Good beach for volleyball....lots of nets. For swimming, not so good. Sometimes foul-smelling in hot weather, although they do make an attempt to keep it clean. I used to like to walk the pier on the east side of the beach, but half of it is closed off now.

The Beach is the Same Fabulous Sugary Sand as it ever Was, the area is undergoing a bit of a renewal as the Piers have been closed down partially and local landmarks are being slowly replaced with new restaurants and boutiques. The City has handed management of the usable boat slips over to Dalhousie Boat club and they charge a... More

Lovely fine sand beach, little ice cream kiosk, green grass for frisbee or what-have-you. The water is so-so; make sure it's safe to swim before you plunge. Hoping they re-open the marina walk soon!

Great beach for walking and water sports. They have several volleyball post installed, so anyone with a net can setup and play. You can often join in on a game in progress. There is a water sports hut for stand up paddleboarding, that also offers drinks and food in front of the public washrooms.

Always a nice thing to do first thing in the morning but especially nice when the grounds are as silk kept as this beach was. Nice to see that not only the grounds people but the local users appreciate what they have and help to keep it an above average place for all people to experience. Definitely a place to... More

Beach is sandy and very nice. Enough shade in case you may want to avoid sun. There is a possibility to play volleyball on the beach. Swimming is possible (weather was fantastic when we were there). Beautiful sunset. Easy wand quiet walk. Vey pleasant. Restaurants nearby.

Our oldest son returned home for a visit after twenty years away. He brought his new wife who had never been to Canada. We asked him what he wanted to see and he immediately replied that he wanted to ride the carousal at Lakeside Park. We live in Port Dalhousie and the Park was etched in his childhood memories. It... Long beach worth the walk. Beautiful view of the Toronto skyline in the distance. West facing so get to watch the sun set which is particularly beautiful. Good to swim or just walk up and down.
