Only Canadians would have a monument to celebrate peacekeeping and the irony of it being within close proximity of the War Memorial was not lost on us. Nice monument on a busy street but worth the view and time to stop by. Especially if you have been a peacekeeper like I have been 3 time over

So many things worth pondering and honouring. This is one of them. Large and impressive and close to the National Art Gallery.

While the giant bronze statues that depict peace-keepers going about their duties are impressive, this monument draws its strength from the concrete foundations on which the figures are set. Blind corners, unexpected dead ends and ragged, fractured surfaces create a sense of unease and anxiety that is highly suited to the realities of modern peace keeping. Highly worth a visit... More

Close to the Byward Market and the US Embassy so easy to get to if you are in the area. Encompasses basically a city block. If you are a history buff then this makes for a nice short visit. More interesting is to compare it to the National War Memorial on Confederation Avenue and the War of 1812 Monument on... More

The $3.2-million project will fix damaged concrete slabs and paving around the monument and refurbish the iconic bronze statues. The work is expected to be complete by... More

It is an interesting monument, and in a way very informative. It is very close to the Art gallery and Major's Hill park.

While on a tour of the city of Ottawa .A good reminder of the importance of peace keeping in the world both today and in the past and Canada's commitment to this worth while cause .The statue consists of figures of the three services.

The Ottawa Peacekeeping Monument is a Beautiful Tribute to our men and women in the Army, Navy and Airforce who have dedicated their lives to making the world a safer place. So sad many people don't understand what this "Little Island" represents, but I still say please visit, stand still, notice the 3 figures, their body language, the sharp-point wall,... More
